🎉 Mount Vernon Elementary Fifth Grade Class Elections! 🎉
We are excited to announce that our Fifth Grade class at Mount Vernon Elementary has just wrapped up their Class Elections! It’s been an amazing process, with students stepping up to take on leadership roles. 🙌
Students were nominated by their peers, and the campaigning was in full swing! The energy was incredible as students designed posters, gave speeches, and shared their ideas with their classmates. From creative slogans to thoughtful plans, these students truly brought their best! 🎤🎨📋
After a spirited election process, we are proud to introduce our newly elected Class President and Student Council Members! 🎓👏 They will now represent their peers, collaborate with teachers, and work hard to make this school year one to remember.
A huge congratulations to all the candidates for their hard work and dedication—each one of you showed what true leadership is all about. We are so proud of everyone who participated, and we can’t wait to see the positive impact our student leaders will have on the school! 🌟

🔥MVES Preschool Fire Safety🔥
Preschool hosted Pongo Volunteer Fire Department today to learn about dangers of smoke, fire, stoves, etc! We learned about how to keep ourselves and our families safe. Firefighters are here to help us and we can call them if we need them. Thank you, Pongo, for dedicating your time to educating our littlest Mustangs ❤️🖤

Second grade had the perfect day for a field trip to Haney’s Apple Farm. The students learned about the different varieties of apples. They hand-picked their own apples from the trees in the orchard. Then we enjoyed the rest of our trip at the park, having lunch and playing on the playground.

MVES Preschool had so much fun inviting local community helpers to our classroom to learn about what they do for our community! We have a new appreciation for all of the many jobs around us and are thankful for so many who help us every single day!
We hosted First Lady Britainy Beshear, Rockcastle Family Dental, our MVES custodians, Dr. Sarah Kelley with Mt. Vernon Animal Clinic, Jordan Noel with Manna Beauty Salon, and Mr. Ron Owens, local folk artist!

We're thrilled to share highlights from our recent Enrichment classes on the 16th and 23rd! Participants explored STEM with LEGO Robotics and 3D Printing, learned food safety and quick meal prep in Cooking, and identified healthy foods in Nutrition. Our Nature class featured a walk for plant identification, while our Social Skills class included games and LEGO activities. With over 50 attendees, the energy was amazing! Preschool has had a wonderful start! Our smallest Mustangs have practiced walking in line, choosing their food in the cafeteria, learning how to solve problems, they are making new friends, and having fun!! They have just completed their “All About Me” unit and are learning their colors, today was “PINK Day🩷”
